Spiritual Warfare in Redding and Shasta County

There has been alot of talk about spiritual warfare as of late here in Redding andShasta County California, with some very good points being made. But what about our own brothers and sisters, in our own spiritual homes we call churches? What really is this thing called slaying in the spirit?, holy laughter? Do we test the spirits?, does God allow us to test what we may believe is the Holy Spirit? "if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different different gospel which you have not accepted--you may well put up with it ! "

The answer is a resounding yes ! "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God; Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ came in the flesh is of God. and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was comming, and is now already here."

What a wonderfull God we have, who has given us a powerfull sword to test the spirits, a simple question for faithfull believers who know deception is quite possible in todays churches, do you want to be deceived? Simply open your Bible to 1 John Chap. 4 and ask those who are laughing uncontrolably, or writhing on the floor; "Did Jesus Christ come in the flesh?" Surely if this truly is the Holy Spirit, the answer will be a definitive yes !

Why is testing the spirits so important? " The comming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all ununrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

Spiritual Warfare in Redding and Shasta County

Question : Do you think that there are modern prophets?

Yes, in the Bible, it is written, "Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophecy." But what is a Prophet ?, we read further,"But he who prophecies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men." and again "He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church." (1 Corinthians 14 v. 3&4)


As a Christian, how do we obtain the spiritual gift of Prophecy ? Can we knock down people and call fire down from heaven like some T.V. pastors do ?, they sure make alot of money, Church's that are so rich they could be a bank.( 2 Thessalonians 2 v. 11, Revelation 13 v.13).


Do not be deceived, can one purchase the spiritual gift of prophecy ? Can we pay a T.V. pastor, or pay to go to a seminar, or Bethel supernatural school of ministry to become one ? I wonder how , when it is God who decides who gets what gift "But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills." (1 Corinthians 12, v 11)


"But Peter said to him, "Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!" (Acts 8 v20)


It is written again, "But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way." We should pray for spiritual gifts, but without Love, we have nothing. Pray for Divine Love in our hearts, and the rest will follow.

Shawn Bolz, Bill Johnson, Rick Joyner – The Upcoming 'Civil War' in the Church?

Now, I am a bit late to the whole crazy right wing Kansas City Prophets shepherded by Bob Jones, but at some point people have to realize that the goal of the Kansas City Prophets, Joel’s Army, TheCall, and other little groups and movements (like the Seven Mountain Mandate) is to take over local churches, denominations, and individuals. Does this not sound familiar to anyone else?

The Toronto Blessing -


What is the Toronto Blessing?

The Toronto Blessing (or TB, as it is now often called) is a worldwide spiritual movement within Pentecostal and charismatic churches. It is named after the Toronto Airport Vineyard Church in Toronto, Canada, where the movement first hit the headlines in January 1994. Its advocates claim that the Blessing is a "sovereign move of God", a new and glorious work of the Holy Spirit. Many of them call it a "revival." However, others, conscious that scarcely any unbelievers are being converted through this movement, do not call it a revival, but a "renewal" of the Church. Many of them add that this renewal of the Church is being done by God as a prelude to a revival. Others claim that this is more than a mere renewal of the Church; it is God bringing to birth a new super-Church for the end times—a view which fits in with the doctrine known as "Latter-Rain Restorationism," which has been around in Pentecostal and charismatic circles for some time. The claim is also made by many advocates of the TB that those who resist this great move of God will, if they persevere in their resistance, be guilty of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, and various dreadful things will happen to them. What exactly will happen is often left rather vague; the language used is that opposers will be "swept aside," "crushed," that sort of thing. On his video, The Coming Revival, Rodney Howard-Browne warns that opposers will be struck dumb and blind."


Often, but by no means always, when the blessing is imparted in a meeting, some will respond by making noises and bodily movements like various animals. In the early days of the TB, the most common of these animal manifestations was "roaring like a lion." However, this is in fact only one of many animal manifestations which have been observed. I myself have witnessed people gibbering like monkeys, barking like dogs, howling like wolves, and screeching like cats. Here is a description by a person who is in favour of the TB:

That room sounded like it was a cross between a jungle and a farmyard. There were many lions roaring, there were bulls bellowing, there were donkeys, there was a cockerel near me, there were sort of bird songs ... Everything you could possibly imagine, every animal you could conceivably imagine you could hear.

There are other physical phenomena, such as holy drunkenness (staggering about as though drunk), dancing in the Spirit (tap-dancing, ballet dancing), running on the spot, and bouncing up and down like a grasshopper. However, these three—falling over, hysterical laughter and animal manifestations—these are the main physical manifestations of the blessing or anointing.

As for the inner spiritual or emotional experience, there is no reason to doubt that many people do feel an overwhelming sense of being loved, and tremendous feelings of joy and euphoria. The only question is how these emotional experiences should be interpreted, a question we will return to later.
