August / September 2006 Ministry Update |
Loaves and Fishes Doors are Open Again
Unfortunately, do to lack of donations, Redding Loaves and Fishes had to close its doors until September 5th. But thank God for the tremendous response from several local Churches, and a very successful food drive by the Daughters of The British Empire, we are able to open our doors again ! Neighborhood Church of Redding , Redding First United Methodist Church, St. James Lutheran Church, Palo Cedro Church of Christ , and First Presbyterian Church, all blessed us with food collections. May God bless you all mightly in Jesus name ! We would also like to thank Nathan's Anthems for allowing us to post a banner advertising in a very prominent location here in downtown Redding. The owner has a heart for charities here in Shasta County , especially those who feed the poor. We are in need of milk and dairy donations, as well as other Churches to join us in our mission to "To honor God by seeing the face of Christ in every person we serve." Wont you please consider this worth while charity?
We had a fantastic food drive hosted by the Grocery Outlet here in Redding, www.cfgo.com. The generosity and love demonstrated for those suffering from poverty and low income continues to amaze us. A suprise blessing occured when a truck with several large bags of food pulled up collected by the folks at Redding Seventh Day Adventist Church, as well as a trunk load of food arriving from Redding Christian High School. Its a real pleasure knowing you are helping to play a big part in relieving the burden felt by other Christian charities here in Redding and Shasta County, as well as showing the love and compassion of Jesus !
