He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, But he who honors Him has mercy on the needy. Proverbs 14, v31 Daughters of The British Empire , York Minster Chapter of Redding Hosts Food Drive For Redding Loaves and Fishes. The Daughters of The British Empire Hosted a food drive for Redding Loaves and Fishes, Saturday, March 25th, which was a wonderfull success. Founded in 1909, the society adopted the same Daughters of the British Empire in the U.S.A in 1920. It is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, non-sectarian, voluntary society of women of British or Commonwealth birth or ancestry. More than 5000 women nationwide belong to the D.B.E. The primary objective of D.B.E. is to raise funds to help support four British Homes for retired men and women, located in each of the four regions of D.B.E. in the U.S.A. The secondary objectives are local philanthropy, friendship and the promotion of closer relationships among English-speaking people. D.B.E. has seventeen chapters in Northern California with approximately 320 members. Kerry Sheppard, Regent of the York Minster , Redding Chapter , was kind enough to contact R.L.F. to host the food drive at Raley's supermarket at 110 Hartnell Ave.
We at Redding Loaves and Fishes found Kerry and the rest of the daughters to be a delight to work with , very upbeat with a great positive attitude ! Thank you so much for supporting our Christian charity, may God bless you in Jesus name. Also a big thank you to Raley's on Hartnell Ave. Those interested in joining the D.B.E, York Minster , Redding Chapter may contact them at DBEyorkmin1@aol.com or visit their site at http://www.dbenca.org |
