Is God calling his Church to fast for others? "Is this not the fast I have chosen:To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?" (Isaiah 58, v.6,7).Is it not our job as Christians during this "season", to help put back the pieces of torn lifes, build others up, and show the Love of Jesus, as well as feed others with the bread of life as well? At Redding Loaves and Fishes, we by the Grace of God , are determined to do so...

Redding Loaves and Fishes is urgently asking area churches, community charity groups, clubs and organizations to donate food and money on a monthly basis in response to the increase in persons needing food and other assistance in the community. People are coming from as far away as Shasta Lake City, Shingletown, and Lakehead. Single parent families with many children, Grandmothers finding themselves parents once again, the elderly, and the disabled , as well as the homeless make up the majority of clients in need of emergency food. Without a wonderfull and generous donation from St. James Lutheran Church collected at Christmas, on top of our current monthly church donations, we would never have made it ! We praise you Father, for the loving churches and individuals you have touched to say "yes" to Redding Loaves and Fishes.
