We are fortunate at Redding Loaves & Fishes to have several wonderful, charitable, dedicated volunteers. Without them, we wouldn't be able to do what we do. We are a new, reforming food bank and ministry, and in need of many more volunteers. We invite you to join us in our service to Redding, Shasta County, and the community. Whether you come as a "regular" or on a one-time basis, your time, charity, and service are invaluable to our ministry. Please consider these volunteer positions currently available. Description of Committees

  • FUNDRAISING:
  • Come up with ideas for cool fundraising events and put it all together. Requires coordination with MEDIA and BUSINESS NON-FOOD DONATIONS/SPONSORSHIP Committees.


     
  • MEDIA/PROMOTION/PRESS RELEASES:
  • Write and send out press releases; appear in T.V. interviews and do radio interviews (either in person or by phone). Requires people who are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about our ministry and can be influential to get results from public; must be outgoing and relaxed in front of the camera.


     
  • BUSINESS NON-FOOD DONATIONS/SPONSORSHIP:
  • People to encourage businesses to donate non-food products and services such as free printing or advertising for fundraisers or special needs during the year; prizes to be donated or auctioned off at fundraisers; small inexpensive gift items to be given away when we host a table at some of Redding’s community events (like Take Back the Night).


     
  • COMMUNITY EVENTS:
  • A team to act as representatives of RL&F; will host an informational table or booth at community events to promote support of the RL&F ministry.


     
  • USED BIBLES COLLECTIONS & PICK-UP:
  • Can be done at own church and brought to RL&F through a volunteer on their day to serve.


     
  • CHANGE BOXES:
  • Place change donation boxes at participating businesses, keep track of where they are, empty them on a scheduled day; run through change counting machine, then deliver to Treasurer or other appointed person to deposit at bank. Person needs to be organized and keep track of receipts, etc. Gasoline/mileage will be reimbursed, provided person(s) keep(s) track of mileage and turns in a mileage report once a month.


     
  • FOOD DONATIONS:
  • Acquire ongoing donations from stores and churches, community groups, etc. Mileage reimbursed with mileage report.
